Top things to do at Digifest 2020

Digifest 2020, the UK’s leading edtech event, is enlightening, stimulating and packed full of things to do and see.

Immerse yourself in two days of talks, workshops, panel discussions and demos, presented by experts and peers from the further and higher education sectors.

Here are our top five picks:

1. Delve into the digital campus

At the heart of this year’s Digifest is hall three’s digital campus - a home for you to relax, network and experience technology in an immersive and exciting way.

Explore future technologies in the innovation dome, get hands-on in the classroom of the future or just relax on the college green.

Experience Microsoft, Google and Amazon’s latest technology offerings for learning and teaching and participate in a wide range of workshops and demos.

2. Holographic content

Digifest 2020 will feature the latest in holographic technology. We don’t want to spoil the surprise, but we expect you will be impressed…

Fancy becoming holographic content? Come up to the mezzanine studio where we will project you to our holographic gauze in real-time!

3. Natalie’s augmented reality dashboard

Building on last year's Natalie_4.0 experience, we’ve developed the app using the amazing augmented reality Magic Leap 1 headsets.

Last year the Natalie_4.0 experience focused on her use of AR goggles. They enabled her to see digitised content with no laptops or phones, make ‘holocalls’ with her tutor and use her AI chatbot to access her schedule and course progress.

This year, when you put on the Magic Leap 1 headset, you will experience those AR goggles for yourself, seeing Natalie’s augmented dashboard that we envision is only ten years away.

4. What’s on?

Over the two days we’ll explore everything from how Education 4.0 can help prepare students for the world of work to lifelong learning and ethics and data. We’ll be discovering what a modern institution looks like, uncovering learning spaces with digital injection, demonstrating technology in action and sharing best practice. View the full programme.

5. Do it your way

Customise your experience by using the Digifest app to create your own schedule, network via the activity feed, and take part in polls and feedback opportunities. It’s full of information on the sessions, speakers, exhibitors and everything else that’s happening over the two days.

The app can also act as a reminder, prompting you on where to be and when, with a map of the venue so nobody gets lost.
