Jisc and CNI reveal keynote speakers for research and scholarly communications conference.
Jisc and the Coalition for Networked Information (CNI), a joint project of the Association of Research Libraries and EDUCAUSE, today reveal the line-up of keynote speakers of their summer conference in Bristol.
Speaker Alexa McCray, professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School will address challenges around knowledge representation and discovery, and will outline how the university library can be a catalyst for best practice.
Clifford Lynch, CNI’s executive director, says:
“Through the conference theme, ‘frontiers in research practice - the university library as a catalyst’, we will be exploring topics such as research 4.0, data science and analytics, the implications of practices of open scholarship, research integrity and evolving research collections.”
Specific attention will be given the role libraries can play in adapting to new technologies and workflows.
Chris Keene, Jisc’s head of library and scholarly futures, said:
“New technologies and increased focus on research integrity makes it critical for universities to seek out best practice in this time of rapid change. This year’s joint Jisc/CNI conference offers insights on how these organisations can equip themselves and respond.”
Other keynote speakers already confirmed are professor James Wilsdon from the University of Sheffield and leader of the Research on Research Institute and Dan Cohen, dean of libraries and professor of history at Northeastern University. You can find more information about the full line-up of speakers on the conference web pages.
The Jisc and CNI leaders conference will take place from 14-15 July 2020 in Bristol. Tickets are on sale now.
